ForeWARD Wiki

Burning Tracks is the title of both the pilot and the first chapter of foreWARD.

Summary[]

We’re introduced to our protagonists during an average day at work when Mitsuki runs into a volatile Ayakashi on one of his delivery runs. Without control of his own abilities, Mitsuki is unable to fight and instead makes his way back to the Koukai Tower in a desperate attempt to get help. The other interns try to defeat the Ayakashi, but their skills are no match for its strength. Just when all hope is lost, their old teacher, Okuda, manages to save them and slays the beast. The episode ends with the arrival of President Kusari, who informs the interns that the opportunity for promotion awaits them.

Animatic Pilot[]

As foreWARD was originally conceived as an animated series, the first episode was produced as a fully voiced animatic to be pitched around to studios.

Audio Drama Episode[]

When foreWARD was reworked into an audio drama, minor adjustments were made to the pilot with the audio reproduced for the new format.

Changes from the Pilot[]

  • Copyrighted music was removed entirely
  • Some characters were recast due to the time in between productions and changes made during development
  • A flashback for Kusari and The Utsubasa Incident was added
